FIRST ‘ARCTIC HELICOPTER MI-8AMTSh-VA TO BE USED BY ARMED FORCES OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION IS FITTED WITH UIMDB JSC EQUIPMENT

On 16th November 2015 Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant together with SPFC n.a. V.P. Chkalov successfully finished the flight tests of MI-8AMTSh-VA helicopter fitted with the equipment manufactured by UIMDB JSC, which is a member of KRET JSC. The ceremony of transfer to RF Ministry of Defense of MI-8AMTSh-VA helicopter for the arctic force group took place on 25th November 2015.

MI-8AMTSh-VA helicopter is fitted with the equipment, which allows using the helicopter in the following conditions: low temperature, few reference points terrain, polar night, loss of satellite signals, unstable radio communication, large water surface and big distances between base points.

MI-8AMTSh-VA helicopter is equipped with the electronic display system, air data measuring system, light annunciators, lighting fixtures, sensor equipment and other products manufactured by UIMDB JSC and other enterprises of KRET JSC.

‘Arctic’ modification of MI-8 helicopter was created specially for using in North regions of the country at temperatures below minus 40°С. The flight range of the helicopter with additional fuel tanks installed is more than 1300 km.
